The Pontiac Solstice Coupe offers 2 level of powers, the base which is powered by a 2.4 liter Ecotec 4 cylinder engine that produces a 173 horsepower and claims this car can accelerate from a standpoint of 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds with either of its transmission, while on the on the other hand the GXP model is equipped with a Turbocharged 2.0 liter Ecotec engine that enables this car to burst a 260 horsepower and also claims to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds they claim to have same results with automatic or a manual version of transmission.
For people who loves the breeze when driving, the Pontiac Solstice also offers this removable roof panel feature, in which it can fully open the cockpit just like a convertible, the removable panel is framed in lightweight magnesium and nicely done that weighs only 31 pounds, but the sad part is when it is removed it doesn't fit in the back of the car, so you'll have to leave it behind and because of that you'll be soaking wet when it rains,
but they have a solution for that, which they suggested for the buyer to install a soft top that does fit in Pontiac Solstice 's cargo area in disassembled form, to use it you'll need to assemble the 3 pieces together, which isn't that hard to do but who would want to do that specially when you're outdoor, and besides the soft top would cost another $1100, so my advice is... leave top on.
