Supercars | Sesto Elemento Supercars

SupercarsLambo's concept teaser that had us on the edge of our seats has finally been revealed, introducing the Sesto Elemento, which starred on the eve of the 2010 Paris motor show, previewed the future of Lamborghini cars. Sesto Elemento is the Italian for sixth element, which makes a lot of sense since the sixth element Sesto Elementois carbon which this supercar is constructed from and helping it achieve the kerbweight of under 1000kg, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento weighs just 999kg that features a 4 wheel drive with a 5.2 V10 engine, it is pretty amazing.

The main component of the Sesto Elemento is a carbonfiber monocoque, nano technology is also featured in its paint providing a shimmer effect, the wheels, brakes and suspensions are also made from carbon, the tailpipes are constructed from Pyrosic (a glass and ceramic composite that can withstand 900 degrees) while the subframe and rear axle suspension are made of aluminum.

Just imagine Gallardo's 562bhp 5.2 liter V10 engine installed in a supercar with a kerbweight of only 999kg and also features a 4 wheel drive system, what do you get? a Veyron Killer perhaps, Sesto Elemento can sprint from a standpoint to 62mph in just 2.5 seconds, the top speed is said to be "well over 185mph" which only means that you'll be running out of roads before you reach a speed of more than that, aside from its striking numbers the benefit of being lighter also means lesser emission and lesser fuel consumption and what makes it even more exciting is that it doesn't only stops better but it also turns sharper than ever.

Of course not all the technologies on a concept car will be used on the real thing, but it is definite that the next V12 Lamborghini supercar will have a carbonfiber tub (and knowing that the Murcielago already has CFRP panels) we expect to see even more of the Sesto Elemento features on the upcoming models of Lamborghini cars.
