Supercars | Porsche GTS Supercars

Soporsche gts what is the Porsche GTS Carrera? aside from being just another upgraded Porsche 911, the GTS might actually be the best all around 911 model, it comes with some engine upgrades to boost its power while taking the better and wider body from the 4 wheel drive models (the best looking models) it takes all the best and leaves the standard Carrera S with almost no edge except for being a bit cheaper.

Porsche GTSsupercars is available either in a Coupe or a Cabriolet version, but we personally prefer this on the hard top coupe version because this is where you'll feel the real upgrade take place, we still haven't figured out why but the GTS on the Cabriolet version performs somewhat the same as a standard Carrera S even thought the numbers clearly shows the improvement but it's pretty hard to notice when your on the wheels you just can't feel the upgrades made for the Cabriolet.

So what are the upgrades made on the Porsche GTS?, it comes with the Powerkit pack which is an option on the a standard Carrera S while a special intake manifold, with 6 single flaps that switches between power and torque optimised maps, that enables the 3.8 liter flat six engine to produce a 402bhp @ 7300rpm over the regular 380bhp@6500rpm but the torque remains the same 310lb ft. On the performing end this Porsche GTS sprints from 0 to 62mph in 4.6 seconds for the Coupe and 4.7 seconds for the Cabriolet just a tenth better than a regular S model. There are other options to better improve the performance such as the PDK, Sports Chrono Plus pack with launch control that can help cut 0.2+ seconds off the time.

Other modifications made on the Porsche GTS includes a wider rear body just like the Porsche Carrera 4, its equipped with a broken size tire (rear tires are wider), there's also the SportDesign nose with a little black spoiler, black sills from the GT2 RS, a revised springs and the anti-roll bars, more importantly the black-painted 19 inch wheels. Porsche GTS is 5 kgs lighter by removing the rear seats, Porsche's adaptive PASM suspension, the sports exhaust and a bigger fuel tank are also a free option.

It would have been even better if Porsche Equip some of the light weight equipment to make this GTS perform even better but all in all this Porsche GTS is a good car.

Supercars | new Beetle Supercars

Thenew beetle 2012 Volkswagen all new Beetle promoted on the Oprah show, will be unveiled in the LA auto show next year and will hit the European market on May 2011, as you may see this new car possessed a stronger and sharper aura compared to the current version known as the New Beetle, some reshape was obvious on the rear end which gives this Beetle a more powerful impression the "New" prefix will be remove though, returning to being just Volkswagen Beetle, but in the end the resemblance still remains.

Thissupercars new Beetle will be wider and have a longer wheelbase compared to the current version it is bigger and will most certainly gain more interior space, specially on the rear, its suspension will also be improved for better handling. This new Beetle will have various of engine to offer including a 1.2 liter that has a 105hp, a 1.4 liter with 160hp, and a 2.0 liter with 210hp, Sources say they might have also a 2.5 liter engine that produces a massive 270 horsepower, 2 diesel engine will also be offered, a 1.6 liter with 105hp and a 2.0 liter with 140hp.

Supercars | Porsche Cayman Supercars

AsPorsche Cayman we all know there are 2 models of Cayman the base and the S model which is the more powerful one. But as of today the S model will be in the middle in terms of power because of this new Porsche Cayman R, this unit is what I call a desperate upgrade, the desperate for speed, and as a result the Porsche Cayman R was crowned to be the most powerful version of the 3 since it is the only version powerful enough to keep up with the 911.

SoSupercars how powerful is the Porsche Cayman R? compared to the S version the R has a 325 horsepower which is 10 horses more than the S version, though the torque remains unchanged at 272lb ft. more importantly is the weight reduction which is the main factor of its improved performance. The Porsche Cayman R is 55kgs lighter than the S. Details on the weight reduction includes the Carbon fiber bucket seats, the aluminum doors from the GT3 and the 19" lightest set of Porsche alloyed wheels, aside from the good reductions here are the desperate moves made to reduce its weight which is by equipping a smaller fuel tank and stripping the interior, this Porsche Cayman R is almost as bare as a car can get, it comes with no radio and no air-con, the most common features needed for an everyday car.

The extra bodywork made on this Porsche Cayman R is pretty neat though, with the new front lip spoiler and a fixed rear wing that could give an extra downforce reducing the lift on both axles, as a result, Porsche Cayman R sprints from 0 to 62mph in 5 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than the S version, and when equipped with an optional PDK gearbox the numbers would drop to 4.7 seconds.

The Porsche Cayman R would cost around £51,731 with a standard equipped limited slip differential and a 20mm lower sports suspension while the ceramic brakes are on the option list.

Porsche Cayman is one of the brightest option to choose from when we speak of a supercar, because of its price which is still in range, and aside from the price the appearance of a Cayman is way better than a Boxster, actually it looks even better than a non-turbo 911 because of the sportier look it possess, but these only goes for the 2 versions, I think the R version even as cool as it looks, is foolish to own because it's not made to be an everyday car, but rather made to race and if you're up to racing why would you choose this Porsche Cayman R that comes with an uncomfortable ride and can't even beat the base model of the 911? do you get what I mean? from my point of view I think this version is a mistake.

Supercars | R8 GT Supercars

Thisr8 gt is Audi's new improve -ment of their popular R8, almost every successful supercars has its upgraded versions and this one is R8's and it will be called the Audi R8 GT, which is the fastest R8 version of today, and it is the one suitable version that could take on supercars such as the GT3 RS, M3 GTS and their very own Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.

Althoughsupercars the Audi R8 GT managed to equip a 5.2 liter V10 engine the same engine as the base model of Gallardo with the both of them producing an equal 552 bhp @ 8000rpm and 398 lb ft @ 6500rpm of torque but still Gallardo has the upper hand in terms of acceleration and speed for this R8 GT is a lot heavier weighing 1525kgs lighter than its previous versions but 95kgs more than the Gallardo so as a result the R8 GT sprints from 0 to 62mph in 3.6 seconds over Gallardo's 3.4, even with the power of a 4 wheel drive and the R-tronic tranny (the only option available for R8 GT) is still a bit slower but will hardly be noticed. So you ask why would Audi make an incomplete upgrade version they should have lessen its weight even more, the answer is simple Audi wants to get the best of both worlds in this GT, which they manage to combine speed and convenience of an everyday car in one.

So how did they lighten up Audi R8 GT? first of, a thinner glass, a thinner exhaust, carbon body panels, a magnesium engine subframe, the shaved carpet and a new manual seat(alone reduces 31.5kgs) so all in all the GT version is 100kgs lighter than its previous version. Other additional modifications made includes the two huge tailpipes, a carbon rear wing, a carbon winglets on the nose and the nice set of 19 inch wheels. Optional equipments could be added such as the roll bar, four point harnesses, a fire extinguisher and a battery cut out switch. And inside this car is a Alcantara steering wheel with a sat-nav and air-conditioning still as elegant as ever.

So overall the Audi R8 GT wouldn't look much of a difference over a regular R8 V10 version and that's whats great because they didn't have to change because the ultima design is already made and the modification would only be noticeable when you drove pass a corner with a better control and keener sense to stop, steer and go all thanks to the weight reduction and revised suspension.

Supercars | Porsche SP580 Supercars

JudgingSupercars from the exterior of Porsche SP580, I can say it looks marvelous, it is probably one of the best facelift ever done on a Porsche 997, it looks like a perfect Porsche car to me, the one suitable to be drove around the city lights and country roads where people are impressed because of a smooth elegant sport designed car, unlike a GT3 which puts too much sport in a car.

Porsche SP580Porsche SP580 facelift includes the reshaped front spoiler, redesigned side skirts with a bigger tail plane plus a High-performance 20-inch wheels set in Sportec Mono 7 design (Looks Fantastic). And they've manage to lower this car bringing the chassis to around 20 millimeters closer to the ground, all this to achieve a better driving performance and of course external satisfaction. The suspension by the way can be requested into which suits the individuals best.

The Power, Porsche SP580 is equipped with a 3.8 liter 6 cylinder boxer engine that produces a 426/580 @ 6150 rpm and a Torque of 650 Nm @1950-5000 rpm. and it performs fairly well with an acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, it reaches a quarter mile in 10.3 seconds and ables to get a top speed of 197 mph.

Supercars | Audi R5 Supercars

TheAudi R5 project for the baby R8 has been given a green light, as we speak Audi R5 is already at the programs first stage, Audi R5 which is inspired by their E-tron concept car, which is a hint showing us some of the things to expect on the real thing.

Audi R5 is not going to be TT's substitution but it will rather be positioned on top of the TT and below the R8 supercar, the R5 is a compact sports car with just 3933mm long, Supercarsit's a simple two-seater just a centimetre and a bit longer than a Lotus Exige. And one of the big thing about this project is that Porsche automakers will also take part on its design, they will be the ones responsible for the platform development of this supercar because of its experience in mid and rear engine applications. And it only means that this new baby will be Audi's first time in years with a rear engined sports car.

Although the E-tron showed us their technology of an electric powered vehicle, the majority of Audi R5 models will in fact be powered by combustion engines. Rumors say that the top of the line will be powered by a 5 cylinder 2.5-litre turbo engine from the TT RS, that will produce a satisfying 350bhp, on the other hand R5's sub models might be equipped with a 2.0-litre engines further details are yet to be announced.

Now that the Audi R5 program is already undergoing, we would expect this car to be launched in 2014.
